GMV Max is TikTok Shop's automated ads product: you hand TikTok your catalog and shoppable content and its system optimizes toward Shop sales across everything, trading granular control for automation at scale. Since July 2025 GMV Max is the default and only supported campaign type for TikTok Shop Ads, in two forms: Product GMV Max for shoppable video and product listings, and LIVE GMV Max for livestreams. The older Video Shopping, Product Shopping, and LIVE Shopping Ads formats are legacy for TikTok Shop and are not what we build on. Spark Ads put paid budget behind one specific post, yours or a creator's, exactly as it appeared organically, keeping the social proof and the control. The working rule: Spark amplifies a known winner; GMV Max monetizes a content library.
Aventra Media runs both for US TikTok Shops as an official TikTok Shop Partner (TSP, US) and TikTok One Partner, feeding them from its own UGC engine so the account never runs out of creative to test. Brands can be based anywhere; the shop and the ad account operate in the US market.
Team-level numbers, earned across campaigns and shops the operating team ran before and outside Aventra Media. How we count these.
The split is set out above, and the decision framework is in GMV Max or Spark Ads? A simple way to decide. What is worth checking before you compare proposals is the July 2025 change to Shop Ads.
TikTok's help article About GMV Max migration for TikTok Shop Ads (last updated March 2026) states that starting July 2025 GMV Max is the default and only supported campaign type for TikTok Shop Ads, and points sellers with running Video Shopping, Product Shopping or LIVE Shopping Ads campaigns to an upgrade prompt inside Ads Manager. About GMV Max campaigns in TikTok Ads Manager (last updated March 2026) describes GMV Max as optimizing for total channel ROI for your TikTok Shop. A media plan still written around the legacy Shop Ads formats is quoting a product TikTok has retired.
Neither tool fixes weak content. Paid distribution is a multiplier: strong creative times budget equals growth, weak creative times budget equals expensive silence. If the organic version of a video did nothing, its Sparked version will do nothing faster.
That is why we build the content engine first and treat ads as the second gear. Our media buying is fed by a steady supply of creator videos, which is what makes structured testing possible in the first place.
Product GMV Max selects the products, creative assets and placements most likely to drive purchases, in TikTok's own description of the campaign type. It selects from what already exists. A shop with four videos and no affiliate creators gives the system four things to choose between, and budget does not widen that pool.
Three supplies sit underneath the ad account and have to keep producing:
With those three running, paid has a library to optimize across and a stream of proven organic posts to Spark behind. Without them the ad account is the only thing producing sales, and the sales stop when the budget stops.
You grant it from inside your own account, and you can take it back. A TikTok Shop Partner is authorized at Seller Center > Apps & Services > Agencies & Services, or through the partner's authorization link. Scope is full access or specific-area access; for paid media the relevant scope is Ads manager access, with Data Analytics authorization as a separate optional grant for reporting. Authorization runs for up to one year and you can revoke it at any time under My Services. Ads manager access is a grant inside your ad account, not a transfer of it. TikTok lists no separate US paid media service category for TSPs: GMV Max is a Shop Ads campaign type, run through the Ads manager scope of the same authorization. The full mechanics are on what TikTok Shop Partner status authorizes.
Media spend is never ours to hold. GMV Max and Spark Ads budgets are paid to TikTok through your own Ads Manager, never routed through our invoice. Our fee is a separate line in the statement of work, in one of three structures: a flat project fee, a monthly retainer, or a retainer plus a performance component. The other cost lines are broken down in what a TikTok Shop agency costs.
GMV is a top line, and TikTok says so directly. Seller Center defines it as the total amount paid for orders in the selected period, including cancelled and refunded orders (TikTok's help article How to navigate Shop analytics in Seller Center, last updated November 2025). A figure that counts orders later reversed is not profit, and a return calculated on it is not profit either.
Between that top line and what settles into your account sit the deductions TikTok reports in Earnings Analytics (last updated February 2026): shipping and return shipping, seller discounts and promotion refunds, transaction and referral fees and refund administration, campaign and co-funded marketing costs, affiliate commission, and ad spend. Rates differ by category and change over time, so read the current schedule in your own Seller Center. We do not republish TikTok's fee rates here for that reason.
Before spend scales, agree the number underneath it: what is left per unit after landed cost, the affiliate commission you set in Affiliate Center, and TikTok's fees. That is what a CPA target should be set against. Scale on gross return instead and a shop can grow GMV every week while keeping less money each week.
Brands already selling on TikTok Shop who want spend behind what works, and DTC brands running conversion campaigns who need creative volume to test against. If you have no content pipeline yet, start with UGC production and add paid once there are winners worth amplifying.

No, and you should be suspicious of anyone who does. Performance depends on product, offer, margin, and market. What we commit to is fast creative volume, disciplined testing, and weekly numbers you can verify yourself.
GMV Max optimizes toward Shop sales, so it fits brands selling through TikTok Shop. For DTC offers off-platform, we run conversion campaigns and Spark Ads instead.
You do. We operate in your account so you keep the data, the pixel history, and the spend relationship.
Yes, and we will tell you which assets are worth spending behind. Most accounts also need fresh volume, which our UGC engine supplies.
There is no fixed floor, but paid works best once there is enough creative to test properly. Tell us your budget and we will say honestly whether ads or content is the better first spend.
Yes, at any time. TikTok Shop Partner authorization is granted from inside your own Seller Center at Apps & Services > Agencies & Services and is edited or removed under My Services, and it expires after at most a year unless you renew it. Because media budgets are billed by TikTok to your own Ads Manager rather than through our invoice, ending an engagement leaves no spend stranded with us.
Not on its own. TikTok's Seller Center reports GMV as the total paid for orders in a period, and that total still counts orders which were later cancelled or refunded. Judge paid media on what survives returns, the affiliate commission you set, TikTok's seller fees and your landed cost. The current fee schedule is in your own Seller Center; it changes, so we do not republish rates.
Tell us about your product and what you want to test. We respond to every serious inquiry within 24 hours.
